Biography

Reza Bahmani Alijanvand was a 34-year-old Iranian protester from Masjed Soleyman who worked as a forklift driver at a brick factory. After attending protests in Shahin Shahr on January 8, 2026, he went missing. Five days later, his family identified his body in a cemetery cold storage. He was later buried under heavy security restrictions. His death occurred amid the deadliest crackdown on protesters in Iran’s history.

Reza Bahmani Alijanvand, aged 34, was an Iranian worker and protester known to his family as hardworking and deeply patriotic. He earned a living as a forklift driver at a brick factory and believed strongly in political change for Iran, expressing hope that exiled opposition figure Reza Pahlavi would one day return to the country.

On January 8, 2026, Reza attended protests in Shahin Shahr, a city in central Iran. After that day, he disappeared. For five days, his family searched hospitals, police stations, and prisons across Isfahan province, receiving no information about his whereabouts. On January 13, they found his body in the cold storage of Bagh-e Rezvan cemetery.

Authorities initially refused to release his body and attempted to register him as a state “martyr,” a designation that would have forced the family to accept the official narrative of his death. The family rejected this condition. He was eventually buried in the early hours of January 15 under heavy security, with only five relatives allowed to attend and plainclothes agents present throughout the ceremony.
