Officers responded to a call of a man waving a gun in the air. They arrived to find Rene Prieto armed outside the residence. As officers approached Prieto, he allegedly fired one round at the Chief of Police, who fell to the ground dodging the bullet. Two officers thinking that the Chief had just been gunned down shot and killed Prieto.
