Deadly force
County deputies responded to a man-with-a-gun call. They found Villarreal on his own property, in a pickup, agitated and freshly informed that his wife filed for divorce. At some point Villarreal left the other with a handgun and reportedly fired a shot. Officers returned fire and killed him.
