Ramzi Sami Zabara, aged 35, was a Palestinian man from the Askar Refugee Camp in Nablus, located in the northern part of the occupied West Bank. He was a dedicated member of the Palestinian Civil Defense, an institution committed to providing emergency services such as medical aid, firefighting, rescue operations, and public safety training to Palestinian communities.

Ramzi Sami Zabara, 35, was a devoted civil servant from the Askar Refugee Camp in the city of Nablus, situated in the northern occupied West Bank. He was shot and killed by Israeli soldiers

Ramzi Sami Zabara died after being shot in the heart by Israeli soldiers who had invaded the area near the Huwwara military checkpoint south of Nablus on October 28, 2022. According to eyewitnesses and Palestinian medical sources, the soldiers opened fire indiscriminately, firing live ammunition at several civilian vehicles. Ramzi, who was unarmed and traveling through the area as part of his duties with the Palestinian Civil Defense, was struck by a bullet that penetrated his chest, inflicting critical injuries to his heart. Medical crews were initially blocked by Israeli forces from reaching the wounded. By the time Ramzi was finally transported to a hospital in Nablus, his condition had deteriorated significantly. Despite urgent medical intervention and efforts to save his life, the severity of the wound proved fatal. His death was a direct result of live gunfire to a vital organ, under circumstances where no immediate threat was posed by him, constituting a lethal use of force against a non-combatant.
