Suicide
Philip Gold, 24, was despondent over a possible breakup with his wife and other matters. State troopers found him sitting in a car at a cul-de-sac. For hours, troopers spoke with Gold by phone, police said. An armored other and a SWAT team approached Gold's car. Police said a single gunshot was heard from inside the car, and police found him dead of a self-inflicted gunshot.
