At Rest

Vehic/Purs
Around 4 a.m., an Oak Hill Police officer tried to pull someone over for a minor traffic offense. When the officer activated his emergency lights, the car sped away at a speed estimated to be in excess of 80 mph across the Lochgelly overpass over U.S. 19 toward Lochgelly, police said. Because of the icy roads, the officer decided not to continue chasing the car. The car crashed and the driver, a 17-year-old teenager from Fayetteville, was injured, and his 15-year-old passenger was killed.
