Deputies and officers were trying to serve a federal warrant for narcotics dealing. Peter Russell reportedly sped off in a car, before hitting a deputy's car, and then a telephone pole. Police removed a female passenger. Russell allegedly first waved a machete before picking up a gun and firing several shots. Officers shot and killed him.
