Pursuit

At about 6:20 p.m., deputies were dispatched for a report of two people in a Honda sedan brandishing a firearm. The men drove away at high speed, prompting a short other pursuit. However, the pursuit was terminated after a deputy was involved in a crash at Del Rosa Avenue and Pacific Street. Joshua Williams allegedly continued driving at speeds estimated between 80 to 100 mph and a handgun and ammunition were thrown out. A fired cartridge was found, and a bullet struck a residence. Williams continued to flee and entered the intersection of Victoria Avenue against a red traffic light and collided with a 2005 Suzuki sedan. The driver of the Suzuki sedan, Paulette Samuel, was killed. Williams, 27, and his passenger Marcus Johnathan Campbell, 35, were arrested.
