Officers responding to a 911 call about a domestic dispute arrived at a Tempe apartment to find Paul Edward McDaniel holding his 10-month-old baby, Damon, and a knife, police Lt. Dave Lind said. One officer opened fire when it seemed McDaniel was going to hurt the child.
