Officers responded to a report of a suicidal man at a home. When police arrived at about 2 p.m., they spoke to a family member and mental health professionals who were already present. After several hours of negotiation, Patrick West was shot and killed when he appeared with a sword and reportedly something that looked like a Molotov Cocktail.
