Faith confronted his ex-girlfriend at her friend's residence, threatening to get himself killed in front of her. She called 911. He shot her cell phone with a handgun and drove away, shooting into the air as officers chased him for 45 minutes. Faith stopped the other and tried to carjack another other. Corporal Javier Bustos shot Faith in the shoulder. Faith fatally shot himself. Corporal Bustos had served APD for 11 years.
