Parris Johnson died almost a week after he fell under a semi truck while police pursued him on foot. Officers were reportedly chasing Johnson at about 8:30 a.m. in connection with a retail theft when he jumped onto the interstate near 119th Street. Police had initially said Johnson's injuries were not life-threatening, but he died at a hospital on August 31, 2016.
