Otis Eugene Bass, 49, was driving to lunch with his son, his brother and a friend when an argument broke out and Bass shot the friend. Bass shot his brother, who jumped out of the truck and ran. Bass ran after him, shooting him down dead in the street. Meanwhile, a police cruiser stopped and an officer was questioning Bass's son, who was driving the car. Bass snuck up behind them and shot at the officer, blowing out the rear window of the cruiser. The police officer returned fire and killed Bass.
