Apparently under the influence, Thrasher's wife and daughter called police on him for threatening and unpredictable behavior. As police arrived he brandished a knife and refused to cooperate. Pepper spray did not work. One Taser dart lodged in his torso and another in his forehead. The second man ever to be Tased in Butte, he died four days later.
