Two officers on patrol recognized Douglas, who they described as a parolee and known gang member. Officer Holguin exited the patrol car to approach Douglas and called his name. Douglas was holding his waist as he ran. He stumbled as he drew a gun from his waistband. He then turned toward the officer with his gun, and officer Holguin then shot and killed Douglas.
