Police attempted to stop Aguilar on his bicycle, Aguilar ditched the bike and fled on foot. Police caught him, a struggle ensued. Aguilar had a handgun in his waistband, but is disarmed during the struggle. One police officer accidentally shoots his partner, and the partner in turn shoots Aguilar three times, killing him.
