Deadly force
Noah Scott had a long history of drug abuse, including heroin. When his girlfriend backed out on marriage plans, he stabbed her seven times. Deputies found her bleeding to death on the lawn across the street from Scott's house. Scott confronted them in the doorway with a knife, asking the officers to shoot and kill him. When they didn't, he lunged at them, and three deputies shot him 29 times. His girlfriend succumbed to her injuries. The sheriff called it a case of "suicide by cop."
