Deadly force

Around 12:50 a.m., an officer of the Plainville Police Department arrived at a convenience store. He had learned that Nicole Dechant was at the store purchasing food. He reportedly was aware that Dechant had a misdemeanor warrant for her arrest. The officer approached Dechant when she was sitting on a curb outside the convenience store. He reportedly attempted to arrest her. During the interaction, Dechant allegedly reached inside her bag and took out a firearm. The officer ordered her to put down the gun, and the officer shot and killed her.
