Deputies responded after receiving multiple calls about a man in a checkered shirt with a gun and shots being fired. An eyewitness said Nicholas Robertson was shooting in the air and did not comply with police orders. Deputies said they yelled multiple commands at the suspect to drop the gun, and shot and killed him when he didn't obey. The family was awarded $3.6 million for the wrongful death.
