Deadly force

At approximately 7:07 p.m., officers assigned to a marked patrol car observed a man standing with a bulge under his hooded sweatshirt. The officer asked the man to remove the hood from his head, and when he complied, the officer saw a handgun in the man's waistband. The man ran north on Mascher Street on the sidewalk. As the officers pursued him on foot, he turned toward them with the handgun in his hand. One of the officers shot at the offender. He turned toward the officers again, and both officers shot and killed him.
