Deadly force

A Geary officer saw a man holding a knife. The officer stopped to talk to the man and ordered him to put down the knife. The man allegedly did not comply. A second officer, who was off-duty, stopped to help. A third officer arrived and attempted to deploy his Taser but reportedly could not get a clear shot. When the man saw the Taser, he lunged at the off-duty officer with the knife, and he was shot and killed.
