Police responded to reports of a stolen purse in the Dumbo neighborhood of Brooklyn around 9 p.m. and pursued a 42-year-old man, who fled in a Honda Accord. He drove over the Brooklyn Bridge toward Manhattan. He jumped off the bridge and fell to the ground near Pearl Street, killing him.
