Four deputies responded to Brennity at Melbourne Senior Living, around 6:40 a.m. after receiving reports of a man who was threatening to harm himself. A staff member said he had a gun, and the man fired it while deputies prepared to enter. He allegedly pointed the gun in their direction and was shot and killed.
