Deadly force

Deputies received a call about 7:40 p.m. concerning shots fired. Three deputies arrived and discovered a man dead in the driveway. A second man, armed with a shotgun, approached them. The deputies told the man to put down the weapon, but they said he did not follow the order and instead tried to engage the deputies, who shot and killed him. James Levitz, 83, and Micah Brillhart, 33, were the two men killed, but police withheld the information of who was the person killed by police.
