About 12:30 a.m., HPD patrol officers responded to a report of a shooting inside a residence. Responding officers spoke with a man inside the residence and attempted to have him come outside so they could conduct a welfare check. He refused and barricaded himself inside. After several hours of unsuccessful negotiations, police entered the home and found a woman killed by an apparent gunshot. The man was also found dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot.
