Officers were dispatched just after midnight to a report of a robbery with a gun at the East Hill Market. The store clerk said that the suspect had been loitering in the store, and then approached the counter, pulled out a gun and demanded money and fled. Responding officers noted that the description of the alleged robber was similar to the description from a robbery that had occurred at another nearby convenience store about an hour earlier. One responding officer found a suspicious other rapidly leaving the area from a nearby parking lot. The officer attempted to stop the other and pursued until the other suddenly veered off the road and collided with a tree at a high speed, killing the driver.
