Deputies were called to the Loveland Station Campground on a report of a suicidal person at 2:52 p.m., officials said. The deputies reportedly heard shots as they approached, according to initial reports. One deputy positioned himself at the front of the trailer, while another went to the back, the witness said. The deputies told the man to drop the gun, and when he did not, he was shot and killed.
