Deputies and emergency medical technicians went to a woman's home shortly after 7 p.m. to investigate a complaint from a relative in Maryland who was concerned she might commit suicide, police said. The woman agreed to let them take her to a medical facility for help. The woman asked to use the bathroom. When she got into the bathroom, she produced a Ruger 9 mm semiautomatic handgun and pointed the gun at the officer, who shot her three times, killing her.
