At about 2 p.m., an officer pulled over a car with two men inside in the parking lot of a hotel. The driver allegedly got out of the car, confronted and punched the officer, police said. The man broke free and ran to the back of the hotel, police said. The officer chased the man and was allegedly struck after coming around a corner. They struggled on the ground, and the officer shot and killed the man.
