Pursuit
A trooper spotted a Toyota Camry around 1:30 a.m. as it exited I-20 East onto I-75 South. The other reportedly was clocked at more than 100 mph. The officer immediately initiated a pursuit through city streets, and I-75. The trooper reportedly lost sight of the other on Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard but found it again after it had crashed. Some accounts dispute this story and suggest the trooper may have knocked the other off the road, where it hit a concrete barrier and killed Ja'Marrius A. Rucker, 25, and pregnant Nadiyah S. McCants, 18.
