Their life

Mohammed Alaa Al-Sawalhi was a 21-year-old Palestinian cameraman working for Al-Quds Al-Youm TV. He had been pursuing a diploma in multimedia at Israa University in Gaza, which he and his brother paused due to the ongoing conflict. On September 17, 2025, he was killed in an Israeli drone strike near the southern gate of Gaza City’s Al-Shifa Medical Complex, an attack that also seriously injured his brother, Belal Alaa Al-Sawalhi.

Mohammed Al-Sawalhi began his career in journalism with Al-Quds Al-Youm TV, covering news and events in Gaza. Despite the dangers of reporting in a conflict zone, he remained committed to documenting the realities of life during wartime. Together with his brother Belal, who is also a journalist, he had been studying multimedia at Israa University before suspending his education due to the outbreak of hostilities. Mohammed was killed instantly in a drone strike on September 17, 2025, at the southern gate of Al-Shifa Medical Complex, which targeted multiple people in the area. His brother, though seriously injured, attempted to carry him to safety.
