Mohammad died from serious gunshot wounds sustained on August 9, 2022, during an Israeli military invasion of Nablus.

Mohammad Marzouq Arayshy died from critical gunshot wounds inflicted by Israeli military forces during a large-scale incursion into the city of Nablus on August 9, 2022. He was shot amidst intense clashes between Israeli soldiers and local Palestinians, during which live ammunition was widely used. Witnesses and footage from the scene indicate that Mohammad was unarmed and among the many civilians caught in the assault. As medics attempted to rescue him under continuous gunfire, they faced severe obstruction — including being targeted by Israeli soldiers and blocked from entering affected zones. Despite being eventually rushed to Rafidia Hospital, his injuries were too severe, and after two weeks in critical condition, he succumbed to multi-organ failure and complications from bullet wounds on August 23, 2022. His death is part of a broader pattern of lethal force used during Israeli military raids on Palestinian urban centers.

Biography

Mohammad Marzouq Arayshy was a 25-year-old Palestinian man from the city of Nablus in the northern West Bank. He lived in Nablus’s Old City and was known among his community before becoming one of the many victims of escalating Israeli military operations in the region. On August 9, 2022, Mohammad was critically wounded during a large-scale Israeli military offensive into Nablus. Despite efforts by medics to evacuate him under live fire, his injuries proved fatal, and he succumbed to his wounds two weeks later, on August 23, 2022.

Mohammad Marzouq Arayshy, 25, was a resident of Nablus, one of the largest and most historically rich cities in the northern West Bank. On August 9, 2022, Israeli forces launched a major military invasion into the city, during which they killed three Palestinians and injured at least forty others. Mohammad was among the seriously wounded. During the operation, the Israeli army reportedly fired on Palestinian ambulances and obstructed medical teams from reaching the injured. He was eventually rushed to Rafidia Hospital in Nablus but remained in critical condition. On August 23, 2022, after battling his injuries for two weeks, Mohammad passed away. His funeral began at Rafidia Hospital, moved through the Old City past his family home, and ended at the Shuhada (Martyrs) Cemetery where he was buried.
