Mohammad Marzouq Arayshy was a 25-year-old Palestinian man from the city of Nablus in the northern West Bank. He lived in Nablus’s Old City and was known among his community before becoming one of the many victims of escalating Israeli military operations in the region. On August 9, 2022, Mohammad was critically wounded during a large-scale Israeli military offensive into Nablus. Despite efforts by medics to evacuate him under live fire, his injuries proved fatal, and he succumbed to his wounds two weeks later, on August 23, 2022.

Mohammad Marzouq Arayshy, 25, was a resident of Nablus, one of the largest and most historically rich cities in the northern West Bank. On August 9, 2022, Israeli forces launched a major military invasion into the city, during which they killed three Palestinians and injured at least forty others. Mohammad was among the seriously wounded. During the operation, the Israeli army reportedly fired on Palestinian ambulances and obstructed medical teams from reaching the injured. A video from the scene contradicted the army’s claim that an ambulance was being used to shield stone-throwers; instead, it showed medics and local civilians frantically trying to save Mohammad’s life under fire. He was eventually rushed to Rafidia Hospital in Nablus but remained in critical condition. On August 23, 2022, after battling his injuries for two weeks, Mohammad passed away. His funeral began at Rafidia Hospital, moved through the Old City past his family home, and ended at the Shuhada (Martyrs) Cemetery where he was buried.
