Shot with pellets in throat and back on January 9, 2026 in Resalat area of Tehran. Several hospitals including Ansari Hospital refused to admit him, but Resalat Hospital finally admitted him. He remained hospitalized and underwent several surgeries before dying on February 8. He had recently gotten engaged and told those who brought him to the hospital 'I don't want to die. I just got married.'
