Biography
Mohammad Hasan Abu Sam’aan, 32, was a Palestinian from Gaza City who was killed on May 17, 2021, when Israeli missiles struck the Maldives Café along the Gaza City seaside. The attack also killed three other Palestinians and wounded many others. Mohammad’s death occurred during the ninth day of Israel’s large-scale bombardment of Gaza, which targeted homes, businesses, public facilities, and infrastructure, leaving hundreds dead and thousands injured.
Mohammad Hasan Abu Sam’aan, 32, lived in Gaza City and was among the many civilians killed during the May 2021 Israeli military offensive on the Gaza Strip. On May 17, Israeli warplanes fired missiles at the Maldives Café, a popular seaside spot in Gaza City, killing Mohammad and three others—Mohammed Jamal ‘Ali Abu Sam’an, 24; ‘Ali Waleed al-‘Abed Burais, 30; and Ahmed Khalil Hejazi al-Louh, 24.
