Mohammad Ahmad Abu Amsha, also known as Mohammed Ahmad ‘Abed Abu ‘Ashma, was a 35-year-old Palestinian man from Beit Hanoun, in the northern Gaza Strip. On May 12, 2021, during the intense Israeli aerial bombardment of Gaza, he was killed in an airstrike. His body was brought to Beit Hanoun Hospital after he had gone missing for two days amidst the heavy bombardments. Mohammad was one of more than 30 Palestinians who lost their lives that day, many of whom were civilians killed while sheltering inside their homes with their families. His death reflects the widespread destruction and tragic civilian toll of the attacks on Gaza in mid-May 2021.

Mohammad Ahmad Abu Amsha, aged 35, lived in Beit Hanoun, a town located in the northern Gaza Strip. He experienced life under siege, restrictions, and recurring escalations of violence that shaped the daily existence of Palestinians in the enclave. On May 10, 2021, Israel launched a massive wave of airstrikes on Gaza, which continued for days, targeting homes, infrastructure, and civilian neighborhoods. During this onslaught, Mohammad went missing for two days. On May 12, 2021, at approximately 19:30, his lifeless body was recovered and transferred to Beit Hanoun Hospital. He was among at least 30 Palestinians killed that day, including women and children, as multiple Israeli strikes destroyed residential buildings, towers, and public infrastructure across Gaza.
