Moamen Mohammed Abu Al-Auf

Moamen Mohammed Abu Al-Auf, a Palestinian photojournalist, was killed on Monday evening in a targeted Israeli airstrike while documenting the ongoing Israeli assault east of Gaza City, Al Jazeera reported Tuesday. He was accompanying three paramedics at the time of the attack. According to the Government Media Office in Gaza, Abu Al-Auf’s death brings the number of journalists killed in the Gaza Strip to 227 since the war began in October 2023. The office strongly condemned what it described as the "systematic targeting, killing, and assassination of Palestinian journalists by the Israeli occupation.” The strike occurred during a humanitarian mission on Jaffa Street in the Tuffah neighborhood. Just minutes earlier, Abu Al-Auf had been seen alongside paramedics at Al-Shifa Hospital following a rescue mission in the Al-Radwan area. Cameras captured his presence at the hospital before the fatal bombing. The three paramedics accompanying him—Hussein Muhaisen, Baraa Afana, and Wael Al-Attar—were also victims of the attack. Israel has reportedly killed 40 health workers in the preceding 25 days alone.
