Biography

Milad Gholami was a 25-year-old resident of Tehran, Iran, known as a dedicated computer science student and a hardworking young man. On January 8, 2026, he took part in protests in the Tehranpars neighborhood as part of widespread demonstrations against governmental repression. During these protests, he was fatally shot by Iranian security forces. His body was missing for days before being identified by his grieving family.

Born around 2000–2001, Milad Gholami grew up in Tehran, where he pursued his studies and tried to build a better future. He was enrolled in computer science, balancing his academic responsibilities with part-time work to support himself amid Iran’s challenging economic conditions. Friends and family described him as humble, calm, and focused on both his education and helping others. When nationwide protests erupted in early January 2026, Milad joined the demonstrations in Tehranpars — reflecting a generation of young Iranians who risked their lives for political freedom and reform. After he was shot during the protests, his family spent several days searching before being informed where they could identify his body. He was buried in Behesht-e Zahra Cemetery in southern Tehran on January 17, 2026, one week after his death.
