Macon County deputies were dispatched after reports of a dispute between neighbors regarding boards with nails placed on a driveway, blocking a neighbor's exit. The first deputy arrived at around 11:55 p.m. and began interviewing the caller and others. A deputy was confronted by Michael Scott Knibbs, who was armed. The deputy ordered him to drop the weapon. The suspect allegedly took aggressive action toward the deputy, and the deputy shot and killed him.
