An officer was sent to North Macgillis Drive in Round Lake; multiple people had called 911 saying a suspicious man was banging on doors of homes on the block and trying to force his way into at least one of them, police said. The man confronted the officer with a piece of broken glass and the two got into a fight. The officer then shot and killed him.
