Michael Laduca allegedly drove away as deputies patrolling in DeSoto tried to stop him. Deputies pursued him into Red River Parish, where the Jeep Cherokee he was driving went through a barbed wire fence and got stuck in a ditch. Deputies from both parishes shot and killed him. Later reports said he was armed.
