Clemons was released on bail for Child Rape, 6 days later he entered a Tacoma area coffee shop and shot and killed 4 Lakewood police officers, he was wounded in the shootout. A two day manhunt ensued and Clemons was stumbled upon by Seattle PD Officer Benjamin L. Kelly as he was investigating a Stolen Other. The officer recognized him as Clemons reached for his waistband area and the officer shot and killed him. It was later determined that his previous wounds from the Tacoma shootout would have eventually killed him.
