According to the New Mexico State Police, Mary Ann Kirchgessner ran the red light at the intersection of Candelaria Road and Juan Tabo and was struck by an Albuquerque Police Department service aid who had the green light. A lawsuit filed by Kirchgessner's family claims the police service aide ran the red light.
