About 1:40 a.m. Dyer officers attempted to stop a black Dodge Charger, but the driver fled. The driver lost control of the other, left the roadway and rolled. Officers chased the other's two occupants as they fled on foot. One person was taken into custody, but the other, Mark Bivins, continued to flee and reportedly shot at officers, who shot and killed him.
