Deadly force

Two undercover officers shot and killed Mark A. Diggs when he allegedly rammed two police cars in a Home Depot parking lot. The officers were part of an Anti-Crime Task Force that had been set up to deal with car theft. At about 6 p.m., plainclothes officers were on a special stakeout at the store and reportedly saw four people break into two vehicles on the lot, then try to escape in another car. Police said they boxed in the fleeing other. Two officers fired one shot each at Diggs when he allegedly hit the police cars in front of and behind his car.
