About 12:11 p.m., a San Pablo police officer attempted to stop a other for displaying incorrect license plates to a different other, police said. As the officer got out of his patrol car, gunshots were heard from within the other, which collided into two parked vehicles and came to a rest on the sidewalk. Officers discovered the sole occupant, Marcus Lamont Bray sitting in the driver's seat with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to his head.
