Marcos Camarillo
Less-than-lethal force
Marcos Camarillo reportedly had a heart attack after allegedly fighting with police and trying to steal three vehicles on the Southwest Side. According to police, Camarillo tried to take a woman's minivan at a gas station on South Western Avenue. She and her two sons struggled with Camarillo and another motorist struck him with a baseball bat. Camarillo then ran east on 47th Street, where he allegedly tried to pull the driver from another minivan, but he fell and the minivan hit him. An off-duty officer saw, called 911 and went to help Camarillo, police said. When the officer reached him, Camarillo allegedly punched the driver of a pickup truck, pulled him out and tried to drive off. Other officers arrived and eventually subdued Camarillo, who suffered a heart attack en route to a hospital.
