Deputy Koby Knodle responded to a call about a person in a other taking pictures of kids in the area and trying to lure them into a car. Knodle spotted the suspect's other and attempted to stop it. Gastelum did not comply and continued down the street before stopping in a driveway. Knodle and Gastelum got out of their vehicles and began fighting, according to police. Knodle then shot and killed Gastelum.
