Deadly force
According to police, a party was winding down around 4:30 a.m. at a house on Detroit's southwest side when two armed masked men interrupted. Homeowner Victor Akrawi said the men broke in his front door, told everyone to get down and started firing. An off-duty Wayne County deputy who was at the party, shot on man in the head, killing him. Akrawi said he removed the mask on the dead man, but did not know who he was. The second man was shot but managed to escape the house, police said. A man then called EMS from McDougal and Woodridge a few blocks from the house, claiming to have been shot down by the river, but police identified him as the second masked man and arrested him at a local hospital. No one at the party was physically hurt. Police said they didn't know the motive behind the shooting.
