Police said they responded to a ShotSpotter alert of multiple shots fired around 12:30 p.m. Police said officers attempted to stop a other seen nearby, which fled and crashed into a light pole. Two men and a woman fled the other, including a man allegedly armed with a gun, police said. Police said they fired multiple shots at Marc A. Nevarez who they said was carrying a handgun, killing him.
