Biography
Mansoureh Heydari was an Iranian nurse from Bushehr who worked at the Social Security Hospital. A mother of two young children, she joined public protests on January 8, 2026, alongside her husband. During the demonstration near the Qoran Mosque on Ashouri Street, security forces opened fire on protesters. Both she and her husband were shot and killed. Their deaths left their two children orphaned and became one of the most widely reported cases from the Bushehr crackdown.
Mansoureh Heydari lived in Bushehr, a city in southwestern Iran. She was employed as a nurse at the Social Security Hospital and was described as a devoted mother to her two children, aged approximately 7 and 10. On January 8, 2026, as protests spread across multiple Iranian cities, she and her husband joined demonstrators in Bushehr. Protesters gathered and moved through the city before reaching Ashouri Street near the Qoran Mosque. During the confrontation, security forces stationed in or around the mosque reportedly opened fire on the crowd. Mansoureh was first seen attempting to move away as gunfire erupted, but after her husband was shot, she returned toward him and was also struck. She died at the scene. Her body was reportedly withheld for several days before being returned for burial. Family members later expressed both pride in her stance and fear due to ongoing security pressure.
